Disneyland
We took the kids to Disneyland for two days as their Christmas gift and it was by far the best idea we've come up with yet. (Pictures to come) The only thing we missed doing was Tom Sawyer's Island, which was closed becuz of the rain. Karlee was tall enough to go on all the rides except for Indiana Jones so we had a blast hopping from roller coaster to roller coaster. After the first one we looked over at Bren and Karlee, hoping that they'd liked it, and were relieved to see HUGE grins! They didn't even care about princesses...they just wanted to go fast. Glad to see they have alittle of me in them! ;) Monday am it was pouring so there was no one at the park. We walked onto almost every ride. And of course, during the biggest down pour we were on Autopia. Figures. :) The kids were great sports. We were very wet and not once did they complain. Kent joined us later that day and we had fun hanging out with him. The second day we went later and stayed later. Tori wore a Happy Birthday pin the whole day and got many "Happy Birthdays" from cast members...the best one was from Prince Caspian as he was walking past us in the parade.:) Brett tried to get picked for JEdi training twice but didn't have any luck. And we did have a bit of a scare. After dinner we split up, Mark and Karlee to go get the coats from the car and the rest of us to go on the Indiana Jones ride. When we got back together we realized that no one had the backpack...which held our snacks, camera and new hats. By the time we got back to the restaraunt(in Fantasyland) it had been 2 hours and there was no sign of it. No one had seen it. So Mark booked it over to City Hall to see if it had been turned it in. The kids were upset and I was too...thinking of the priceless pictures. (I've never liked the camera so I told Tori if we didn't get it back that at least we could get a new one.) But thankfully, someone was honest and turned the bag in with everything in it. Phew! In the evening we enjoyed the fireworks and then went on Pirates one last time before heading out. I am glad we waited til the kids were older to go experience the magic of Disneyland. It was a very memorable Christmas.
