Funny conversations

Last night we took the trailer back up to my parent's house. We hung out a bit and they showed us a video about the cosmos. It was 20 min long and made by a fellow they work with in the temple. He is a past stake prez and has an observatory in a home in the mountains. The majority of the pix in the video were taken with his telescope. It is was a beautiful testimony about the creation, Heavenly Father and Jesus and our place in this work.

Karlee is always asking about death, dying, heaven, angels, etc.. She often (almost daily) comments on the fact that she is going to live with Jesus in heaven. We've been talking alot about choosing the right and obeying the commandments (mostly cuz she's naughty ALOT) and so she now adds that she has to keep the commandments so she can live with Jesus. Slowly but surely it is clicking. :)

On our way to the ranch she was asking how old everyone was and commented that Mark was old and that he was going to die soon. We had to tell her no, that Nana and papa are older than dad and that they are not going to die soon either. She asked how old nana was and I said "29". Karlee was all ready to believe that but Brenna quickly said "Nana's can't be 29!!" Smart girl!

So we were watching this video with the gorgeous pix of nebulas, stars, planets, galaxies, etc.. and Karlee's mouth is running a mile a minute for all her questions. "That is were Heavenly Father lives!" "Can I go there?" "Where is that?" We tried to answer but really we just wanted to watch and enjoy so we finally told her to watch and listen.

It was a beautiful night last night so as we were pulling out of the ranch we rolled down the windows and opened the sun roof. We stopped on Big Hill Rd and where we were surrounded by darkness. The heavens were gorgeous! Venus was bright and beautiful! Mark spotted a satellite so we all had to find it. Karlee was very impressed that a star can move like that. We explained that it wasn't a star, that it was a machine that took pictures. "I wish I was a star and then a machine could push me through the sky." she says. We could not get her off the idea that the satellites push stars. She talked about it the rest of the way home. So funny!
